Mary GREGG Obituary
Mary L. Gregg Age 86 passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at her Hockessin, DE residence. Mrs. Gregg had been a longtime resident of Yorklyn, DE. She was born to Francis A. Lafferty and Anna D. Dillion of Kaolin, PA. She graduated from St. Patrick's Elementary School in Kennett Square, PA and Kennett Consolidated High School. She married S. Cooper Gregg in 1935, and together they established, owned and operated the Gregg Bus Service for 55 years. Mrs. Gregg was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Hockessin and also the Yorklyn Historical Society. She spent many happy times at her beach house in Rehoboth with her family and friends. She is survived by her 2 sons, David C. of Yorklyn, DE, Donald R. of Mendenhall, PA; and 5 grandchildren, David P. of Wilmington, Richard W. of North East, MD, Martha Sikorsky of Essington, PA, Stephen C. of Parkesburg, PA and Alan J. of Media, PA. Her 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edward and Philip Lafferty of Kaolin, PA; and a sister, Rita Brackin of Wilmington, DE, also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, S. Cooper Gregg; 2 sisters, Hanna Bristow and Christine Gillis; and 2 brothers, Francis A. and Joseph Lafferty. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am on Saturday, March 6, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Burial will be held privately. Family and friends may call from 7-9 pm on Friday evening, March 5, at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek.
